What is Yoga

What is Yoga , Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi are the eight parts of Patanjali’s Raja Yoga. It is also called Ashtanga Yoga.

hatha yoga , Shatkarma, Asana, Mudra, Pratyahara, Dhyana and Samadhi – these are the seven parts of Hatha Yoga, but the emphasis of Hatha Yogi is more on Asana, Bandha, Mudra and Pranayama for Asana and Kundalini awakening. This action is called yoga.

rhythm yoga , Yama, niyama, gross action, subtle action, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi. It is all part of Laya Yoga.

karma yoga , Karma Yoga is Karma Yoga. Its purpose is to bring efficiency in actions. This yoga is the best yoga. Shri Krishna has also emphasized on this yoga in Mahabharata. And Arjuna has also been told the importance of this yoga through the Gita.

Jnana Yoga :- Gaining the knowledge of a pure soul through witnessing is the yoga of knowledge. This is meditation. This yoga has also been called excellent by Shri Krishna. Because if there is no knowledge then there will not be much difference between man and animal.

Bhakti Yoga :- Devotee hearing, kirtan, remembrance, padaspandana, archana, vandan, dasya, sakhya and atmannivedana form – these nine parts are called Navadha Bhakti. The devotee can choose these according to his interest, nature, ability of sadhna. According to Bhakti Yoga, one attains Salokya, Samipya, Sarupa and Sayujya-mukti, which is called orderly liberation.

 

Kundalini Yoga: Kundalini means “to be coiled like a snake.” Kundalini yoga is a system of meditation that aims to release the energy buried in the mind.
